TRIP, which stands for Technique, Rehearse, Implement, and Perform, was founded 11 years ago by Helena Sullivan, owner of the Stowe Dance Academy, with a mission to promote opportunities for dancers to strengthen dance skills in the genres of ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, and more. Additionally, TRIP provides opportunities to compete as a team at regional New England competitions, to take dance classes from world-renowned teachers, and to perform at community events.

The TRIP Dance Company, now in its eleventh year, is a competitive dance troupe associated with the Stowe Dance Academy.  It began in 2000 with 6 teenagers and has expanded in 2011/12 to include 42 dancers aged 8-18.  TRIP offers young dancers from Lamoille Valley and beyond the opportunity to master technique and performance skills in the areas of Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Hip-Hop.  TRIP dancers take classes with nationally recognized teachers at regional conventions, compete as a team at New England dance competitions, and perform at community events and fundraisers. 

TRIP, originally named by young company dancers at its inception, stands for Technique, Rehearse, Implement and Perform.

The TRIP Dance Company loves to perform and is always looking for more opportunities to do this.  If you know of a company or event that is looking for performers, please contact Helena Sullivan.  We are especially interested in paid performance opportunities with the funds being applied to overall dance expenses for the group, but will consider unpaid performances, as well.
